Charlie Bledsoe is the artwork winner and a student at Mound Westonka High School. She is a talented artist and writer and would like to become a teacher some day.
Her inspiration for the artwork was living around the lake and what joy that brings.
Here’s what her art teacher, Laura Hensley wrote, “Charlie is SUCH a wonderful young woman and a student I’m grateful to teach and have watched grow artistically so far in high school. She has a lot of natural talent, but doesn’t rely on that alone to create intricate and conceptually rich artworks – she puts in time, planning and is willing to take risks to push herself and make artworks that are authentic, meaningful and incredibly skilled! I am so proud of her and excited about this recognition and opportunity for her work to be showcased in conjunction with the Spirit of the Lakes Festival!”
