Q. Where is the festival being held?
A. The festival is being held at Surfside Park and Beach in Mound, MN at Bartlett and Commerce Blvd (5801 Bartlett Blvd; Mound MN 55364)
Q. Does it cost anything?
A. NOPE it’s a free community event.
Q. Will there be parking?
A. There is free parking on neighborhood streets and in designated lots around the venue site. There will be a free shuttle bus picking guests up from various designated shuttle stops.
Q. When and where are the free shuttle buses?
A. Shuttle buses will run Friday from 5pm – 12:30am and Saturday from 8:30am-12:30am and will be stopping at the main parking ramp next to Mound True Value on Shoreline Drive, the parking lot in the Commerce Center located on the northeast corner of Commerce and Lynwood (Wells Fargo), Shirley Hills Elementary School parking lot on Wilshire Blvd and Mt Olive Lutheran Church parking lot on Bartlett Blvd.
Q. Will food be served?
A. What’s a festival without food?! There is a wonderful food court with many options! Check out our Food & Beverage tab for more details.
Q. Where can I buy Spirit of the Lakes Festival t-shirts and swag?
A. Show off your Festival spirit with a t-shirt featuring artwork and our new logo! They can be found at Mound True Value and Jubilee Foods.

Your purchase helps fund our amazing fireworks show and makes you eligible for a variety of prizes including a complimentary ride on an Al & Alma’s boat cruise the morning of July 22nd! Purchase your wristbands at Mound True Value, Minnetonka Drive Inn, Westonka Animal Hospital, Dakota Junction, The Landgon, Gillespie Center, Harbor Wine and Spirits, Jubilee Foods, Scotty B’s Restaurant, Spring Park Pharmacy, V&S Jewelry, 1st Bank, MN Lakes Bank, Cyprus Salon, The City of Mound, Historical Society and WeCan.
T-shirts and wristbands will also be available for sale at the info booth during the festival.
Q. What happens if it rains, will the fireworks go on?
A. In the event of a storm, the Festival Board and Power Squadron will make the decision as to whether or not the fireworks can still go off. If the threat of lightning is present, we may shoot the fireworks earlier in the night or postpone until Sunday evening. We know festival goers love this awesome fireworks display, but a barge filled with explosives poses a few liability risks that may change the timing of the fireworks. Safety is always our first priority.
Q. Can I bring my dog?
A. The Festival follows the rules of Surfside Park which state, “No pets allowed in the park.”
