There is free parking in designated lots around the venue and on neighborhood streets. There will be a free shuttle bus picking guests up from various designated shuttle stops.
When and where are the free shuttle busses?
Shuttle buses will run Friday from 4:30pm – 11:30pm and Saturday from 8:00am – 9:30am and 11:30am – 11:30pm. Shuttles will stop at the main parking ramp next to Mound True Value on Shoreline Drive, the parking lot in the Commerce Center located on the northeast corner of Commerce and Lynwood (Wells Fargo), Shirley Hills Elementary School parking lot on Wilshire Blvd and Mt Olive Lutheran Church parking lot on Bartlett Blvd.
Will food be served?
What’s a festival without food?! There is a wonderful food court with many options!
What happens if it rains? Will the fireworks go on?
In the event of a storm, the Festival Board and Power Squadron will make the decision as to whether or not the fireworks can still go off. If the threat of lightning is present, we may shoot the fireworks earlier in the night or postpone until Sunday evening. We know festival goers love this awesome fireworks display, but a barge filled with explosives poses a few liability risks that may change the timing of the fireworks. Safety is always our first priority.
Can I bring my dog?
The Festival follows the rules posted on the grounds at Surfside Park and Beach.
Where to apply for a booth or parade entry?
Anyone can submit an application for a Parade Entry, Booth spot, or Food Truck spot from the main menu ‘Get Involved’ section. For any other inquiry, please contact us at [email protected]Â Â
About the Festival
The Spirit of the Lakes Festival is an annual community event in Mound, Minnesota, celebrating the vibrant culture and natural beauty of the Lake Minnetonka area. Held at Surfside Beach and Park, the festival offers a variety of activities, including live music, arts and crafts, a grand parade, fireworks, and family-friendly events.
The Festival began in 2004 and is a non-profit organization with a Board made up of community members who volunteer their time and talents. While not officially hosted by the City, the Festival partners with the City of Mound and we could not put on this event without their help and support. We are also thankful for the generous support and involvement of so many local organizations and businesses, so please thank our sponsors and volunteers.
